April Endings

Aw ... not quite the end of April yet, but I've reached the end of the Maruman book, and now am wondering if I want to work on the other side of the page. Anybody with any thoughts on that?
I'm loving sitting in the backyard documenting the spring bloomers -- this week it has been Lily-Of-The-Valley and May Apples in the shade and wildflower garden in the raised stone flower bed ...

...ending up with the old blue Iris that is blooming by the gate into the back yard. Lots of blooms this year. (And you can see on this scan the color of the cover of the sketchbook.)

These have all been so beautiful! You can keep going the way you are and fill the whole other side too as there is still a whole month (in my mind) of spring left.

They are just gorgeous!!! If the other side of the paper is okay, yes, you need to give us more flowers!!

Oooh! What a graceful beauty this page is...as is your whole book. A joy to look at!

On another point...Any tips for working in the Maruman? I am taking part in a Maruman exchange starting in May and would appreciate any pointers you might have...can it take a fairly heavy wash? I thought the paper to be a bit thin...Any suggestions on this?
Thanks! :)

Okay! I'm going to work on the back side of the pages! We'll see how it goes...:-)
Margaret -- the Maruman paper is fairly thin, but doesn't buckle like typical watercolor paper does. It has a very soft hand for WC paper, and so it can handle fairly wet washes. I never covered the entire page with water, though, so your best bet is to just try it out and see.
I'm looking forward to seeing the maruman X blog develop!:
:-)
