Nature Walk

Posted by Picasa This week's challenge for the Everyday Matters group is to go on a nature walk* and draw the things you find and pick up. This was an easy one to do and a hard one to stop on! I did the above page yesterday, and couldn't resist this little feather today. I always was one of those who had feathers and rocks and shells sitting on the windowsills -- my favorite 3-D art!

*all from my back yard, which is pretty woodsy!

(technical bit: 0.05 Staedtler pigment liner and colored pencil in Moleskine sketchbook)

Pages like this are great. Makes you realize what you pass by every day without paying enough attention. Love the white bleedingheart.

Your drawings are getting more magical by the nanosecond. You've found a lovely, strong way with lines and tones and composition. I'm really impressed.

That feather is so sweet. You should draw a page of feathers.

These are wonderful. I especially love the iris and the feather. I am sometimes envious that you have such a woodsy backyard. I look forward to some pointers and lessons from you this summer.

These are beautiful! My Iris haven't started blooming yet, I am impatiently waiting...I tried drawing them a year ago and gave up, too complicated...
