Happy Mother's Day

A quick watercolor of part of my Mother's Day bouquet. Here's hoping all the Moms out there have a wonderful day! And to my mom -- I love you so much -- thanks for all the support, even back in the day when I wasn't bright enough to realize that's what you were doing! Posted by Hello

Absolutely gorgeous flowers, wow!!!Is that aureolin you're using? Love that yellow! Oh, yeah...some care is necessary using purple to darken greens, or anyother color for that matter because, obviously, it's easy to get that red-blue "glow."

Jim -- the yellow is my new purchase -- Winsor Newton Cadmium Lemon. I think it is a new color in their line, and seemed to be the color my palette was missing. I know a couple of other companies make and Hansa / Hanza Yellow, but couldn't find them at the store. Just like quinacridone gold, I imagine the color may be different depending on the manufacturer. And , yeah, I found the hard way -- too much purple in with the green makes a murky mess!

Now this is really perfect. All the sections come together, it's really unified composition. And happy Mom's day.
